About us
The Federated Collaborative Networks (FCN) group is led by Prof. Dr. Hamideh Afsarmanesh at the Computer Science department of the University of Amsterdam. The group is originally established in 1990 and was formally called (COLNET).
Main activities
Teaching
Members of the FCN group are involved in teaching some courses at the bachelor IK (Information Science), the bachelor AI (Arificial Intelligence), and the bachlor IN (Computer Science) programs of the Computer Science department. At present, the following courses are offered by the group:

Collaborative networked organizations, virtual organizations and breeding environments, reference modeling, ontology engineering, schema matching/integration, competency discovery and management, rational trust assessment, qualitative reasoning, federated databases, agent-based federated architectures.
