Aquatic Ecology and Ecotoxicology
Institute for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Dynamics (IBED)
http://www.science.uva.nl/ibed
Research of IBED comprises three fully integrated fundamental themes: Dynamics of Biodiversity, Abiotic Ecosystem Processes, and Ecosystem Dynamics.
IBED thus covers a broad scientific field within the Earth and Life Sciences and integrates studies of biodiversity, ecosystems and the environment, using methods typical of the disciplines of biology, chemistry and physical geography. Consequently, IBED provides a stimulating environment for research and study of exciting problems, supported by cutting-edge research facilities and a pool of expertise, skills and innovation.
IBED's main fieldwork areas are in Northwest and Southern Europe, and Latin America.
