The Graduate School and Research Center BioCentrum Amsterdam is a joint venture of the University of Amsterdam and the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

With about 200 persons employed it is one of the largest research conglomerates in the field of biomolecular sciences and biotechnology in The Netherlands.

About 60 Ph.D. students receive their education at BioCentrum Amsterdam. The school provides for advanced lectures and courses and stimulates scientific cooperation between participating groups and colleagues all over the world.
