Biodiversity Informatics

Introduction

The section Biodiversity Informatics acts as a co-ordinating unit to organise and support the Zoological Museum's efforts on biodiversity informatics, including:

  • ongoing developments on collection digitalisation, data management and validation, and the electronic dissemination of specimen information
  • the Museums involvement in various biodiversity informatics partnerships, infrastructural programs, indexing projects, and working groups
  • stimulation and application of information technology on the collation, management, exchange, validation, analysis and electronic allocation of biodiversity data
  • scientific research on methodologies and standards for advanced biodiversity data pattern analysis and knowledge enhancement
