The Faculty of Science is part of Science Park Amsterdam. Science Park Amsterdam is also the home of internationally renowned research institutes like the National Institute for Nuclear Physics and High Energy Physics (NIKHEF), the Institute for Atomic and Molecular Physics (AMOLF), the National Research Institute for Mathematics and Computer Science (CWI), as well as SARA Computing and Networking Services. The park also houses more than 80 innovative companies.
Over the next ten years the City of Amsterdam, the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research and the University of Amsterdam plan to turn the science park into an international centre of knowledge. A place where co-operation between scientific education, research and innovative enterprises is actively encouraged.
