FACTS & FIGURES HPCN Europe is the yearly opportunity to meet and
learn from researchers, scientists, luminaries and innovators addressing
challenges of industrial, scientific and economic impact in the world of
high-performance computing and networking.
The HPCN Europe '98 event is scheduled from April 21 - 23 in Amsterdam, The
Netherlands. It is the aim of the event to focus on Advanced Solutions for
Industry, Research and Education based on Workstations, Servers, High
Performance Systems, and Networks. HPCN Europe '98 aims in particular to show
the importance of HPCN technology for the industrial end-users. HPCN Europe
'98 is situated next to
The International Exhibition and Conference on High-Performance Computing and Networking Europe '98 is the event covering all aspects of high-performance computing which today starts at the workstation level, including clusters and SMP-servers, and stretches to the extreme high-end represented by vector computers and scalable parallel systems. Interconnect and networking technology is the second major area HPCN '98 will be focussing on. Other topies will be database management, software system integration and WWW. The entire event encompasses an exhibition, a technical conference, a vendor session, in which an industrial end-user track and workshops.
All major vendors in the area of high-performance computing will present:
This makes it the premier exhibition in this field in Europe.
A special Vendor Session will be organised as part of the conference. This
will give attendees detailed information about products and services, and
allow competitive comparisons.
In addition to this, a special Industrial end-user track will be held. This
track (part of the conference) will primarily feature invited speakers from
industry, addressing the issues and benefits of HPCN-technology for industrial
end users.
A special Vendor Track will be organised parallel with the
Conference. This will give attendees detailed information about products,
services and allow competitive comparisons of product and services on display
at the show.

A major attraction in the HPCN Europe '98 event is the
Exhibition. Exhibitors at the 1994 (Munich), 1995 (Milan), 1996 (Brussels) and
1997 (Vienna) events included vendors (both small and large) of hardware-,
software- and networking-technology as well as providers of complementary
services. Most of these companies will be attending the event in Vienna and it
is expected that this "critical mass" will invoke others to participate for
the first time. We are confidant that the positive feedback from the previous
events will act as a further incentive to attend the Vienna event.
Since the HPCN application field is rapidly broadening, an explicit effort
will be undertaken to attract additional exhibitors in the fast growing
fields, focussing on Industry and Commerce. Besides the traditional vendors
attending the show, we are aiming at new vendors offering solutions in areas
such as: System Integration, Data management (i.e. datamining and -
warehousing), WWW and high speed networking.
This offers a unique opportunity for vendors, either small start-up companies
or those who have been in the market for a long time, to exhibit their latest
products. Moreover, it presents possibilities for suppliers to discuss with
key users the directions in technology and the way in which their products are
able to meet these requirements.
In addition to this, special vendor sessions and industrial end-user sessions
will be held. The vendor sessions will focus on technical papers by various
companies. Topics may include descriptions, comparisons or evaluations of the
design, implementation, or performance of an existing commercial system.
Exhibitors will thus have the opportunity to inform customers about their
latest products, make announcements and give an outlook on their new
developments and future plans in HPCN.
The HPCN Europe '98 event includes a conference with workshops postersessions and an industrial end-user track. It has a very attrachtive exhibition including vendor sessions and a Technology Demonstrator Display including offers a unique formula for the quick transfer of knowledge from research to industry and commerce. It is therefore an attractive opportunity for the vendors to illustrate the capabilities and the state of the art of their products.
