A panel session focusing on tools for High Performance Computing is organized by the EuroTools European Working Group.
This panel session is open to anyone interested in High Performance Computing, tools and Software Technology.

The field of High Performance Computing is changing. It has been limited to Scientific Computing for a long time but new applications arise: data mining, metacomputing and web based computing, healthcare, virtual reality, ... These new applications will also bring new users to High Performance Computing.

Is there a need for new tools for High Performance Computing ? Do we need new software technology ?

The talk session will focus on the use of tools developed or studied within European Projects .

THE EUROTOOLS WORKING GROUP

The HPCN EuroTools workshop is organized by the EuroTools European Working Group.

The objective of the EuroTools Working Group is to increase the use of European HPCN Software, both inside and outside Europe. This Working Group aims at encouraging the establishment of collaborations between different partners which are involved in the design, the development, the commercialization, and the use of European software tools for High Performance Computing and Networking.

The EuroTools Working Group comprises 3 Special Interest Groups: High Performance FORTRAN SIG, MPI and PVM SIG and Object Oriented Technology for HPCN SIG. The EuroTools Workshop will focus on practical use of HPCN Technology. After a presentation of the EuroTools Working Group, the workshop will be divided in two sessions of invited talks with a special emphasis on Feedback from end-users in HPCN Esprit Projects.
