'Computerpioniers, pionierscomputers' is the preparation of a textbook in Dutch on computing machinery in the 1950s. The emphasis is on ways of making use of these early machines.
In 2006 a conference was held in Amsterdam: Pioneering Software in the 1960s in Germany, Belgium, and The Netherlands. Publication of the results is in preparation.
Software for Europe, Constructing Europe through Software, traces the ALGOL- and the IBM-cultures in the shaping of computing practices in Europe. SOFT-EU is a collaborative research project in the European Science Foundation's programme "Inventing Europe".
