CGE Education

Regular courses

Most of our courses are methodology-oriented, but always applied to ecology and/or the earth sciences. We teach e.g. basic and advanced statistics, programming in Matlab, modeling of geo-ecological systems, application of geographical information systems (GIS) and remote sensing (RS). For the GIS and RS education the facilities of the GIS-studio are being used.

Our courses form an important part of the undergraduate and graduate programmes of Future Planet Studies, Biological Sciences and Earth Sciences.

Literature review and MSc thesis research

Literature review and MSc thesis research are being supervised individually. The links below provide an overview of the topics offered for study by CGE staff members.

    SCGE2012

    SCGE2012

Each year we organize one or two post-graduate summer courses (the SCGE series). The courses last 5 days and take place at the end of June or start of July.

This year we offer a course on animal movement analysis. In 2013 we will offer courses on inverse modeling in geo-ecology and  species distribution modeling.
