It is possible to study at the Universiteit van Amsterdam (UvA) for a limited period of time - a semester or one academic year - as an exchange student. Exchange students remain registered at their home university and attend the UvA either through the Erasmus exchange programme or through a bilateral exchange between their home university and the UvA. Exchange students pay their tuition fee to their home university and not to the UvA.
