Public database of S.T.E.P. (Studies on Transitional Electronic Programmes)
Welcome to the course repository of the S.T.E.P. project.
Due to the Bologna process the mobility of students both within Europe and between universities of a single country has increased. This gives new opportunities to students to broaden their knowledge and research skills, and to enhance their cultural experiences.
However, transition from secondary school to university or from a Bachelor to a Master study at a different university/country may cause serious transition problems for students. The most common transition problem is gaps in the expected pre-knowledge. To overcome these problems and help students in their transition preparatory courses are often organized (especially at the Bachelor level where universities are confronted with high drop out rates).
The aim of this website is to collect didactic scenarios of preparatory courses and experiences with them in Europe and make these accessible to course developers and people involved in preparatory teaching in higher education.
The preparatory courses collected here can be accessed in two ways:
- You can look for a course by doing a text search in the title, description, country, etc of a course.
- Alternatively you can browse through our collection by choosing course properties. The database will return any course meeting your requirements, including an overview of the scenario you just created.
You are welcome to contribute a description of your own preparatory teaching course.
You can find more information about the S.T.E.P. on the project website.
