Central problem=A05-m2b

We study alkali atom-halogen molecule charge-transfer collisions. [ (link type: 'elaborated in/wider range/corpus'; target: problem MESO-m2b], [ (link type: 'used in'; target: findings A05-m6a]. We measure in eV molecular beam experiments [ (link type: 'detailed in/focused on in'; target: experimental methods A05-m3a] the relative differential cross sections for chemi-ionisation of the systems K + Br2 at initial relative kinetic energies of 10.35 and 6.9 eV, K + I at 11.15 eV and Li + Br2 at 6.25 eV.

Then we try to explain the measurements on the process K + Br2 -> K+ + (Br ... Br-) with simple classical atom-atom model, using the impact-parameter approximation, an isotropic intermolecular potential and neglecting the internal states of the X2 molecule [ (link type: 'detailed in/focused on in'; target: theoretical methods A05-m3c], both qualitatively [ (link type: 'detailed in/focused on in'; target: interpretation A05-m5a] and quantitatively by comparing them to calculations based on the model [ (link type: 'detailed in/focused on in'; target: interpret A05-m5bii].
