Required Software

NL101/103: Linux on 3 PC's

• Linux:Fedora Core 3, GRUB boot
  • Apache (needs root)
  • MySQL (needs root)
  • Java 1.4.2
  • J2EE 1.4

NL104: 1 Windows and 1 Linux PC.

• Windows: Bonjour (mDNSResponder)∞, Web Browser
• Linux:
  • ARP kernel patch (needs root, non-essential)
  • ZCIP∞ (needs root) (installed in /usr/local/sbin, no startup script)
  • mDNSResponder∞ (needs root) (installed by Fedora, and started by default)
  • Apache with PHP (needs root)
  • Bind (name server) (non-essential, but more stable for the demo)
  • Python 2.3.5 or higher (python 2.4.1 installed in /usr/bin)
  • webbrowser with Java (Firefox, but no Java yet)
