Personal information

Marcel Beemster received the Master's degree in Computer Science in 1986 from the University of Amsterdam. For his Master's thesis he studied position detection and system design for an autonomous cart. To 1990 he participated in PRISMA, a joint Dutch project that built a 100 node parallel database machine, in which he worked on design and implementation of compilers for the language POOL (Parallel Object Oriented Language). He is currently a lecturer working on the compilation of lazy functional languages to VLIW-architectures.
