The movies previews below show gas bubbles ascending from the gas distributor into the riser section of the airlift column at three superficial gas velocities, UG = 1.27, 2.93 and 4.73 cm/s, without and with vibration (superficial gas velocity is defined with respect to the riser cross-sectional area). The previews below show gas bubbles at the top of the riser section (in the gas-liquid separator section) in the airlift column at three gas velocities, without and with vibration. The top section of the riser shown in the movies corresponds to a distance of approximately 1 cm below the dispersion height in the gas-liquid separator, depending on the gas velocity. Tiny air bubbles can be seen to be dispersed in the liquid of the gas-liquid separator. These bubbles become more pronounced with an increase in the superficial gas velocity.
