The 2005 CSA Grand prix

On 12/12/2005 The CSA held its first Karting Grand Prix, the first we hope of many. This was held at Race Planet and the entire group came for what turned out to be a very competetive series of races.

First of all we had to sign away our rights and agree that if we were all killed in a monster pile-up, it was all our own fault!

Then some instructions on the karts... basically just two peddles, go and stop, so even our students could grasp that and manage the controls.

So, onto the races, we had 3 heats followed by a final, everyone raced in the final but positions on the grid were determined by performance over the three heats. Chris won the first heat but in the second and third Thomas took the chequered flag and ended up in pole position for the final.

Here you can see the professors discussing strategy before the final in an attempt to stop the students from carrying off all of the prizes!

But in the end, the honours went to Thomas, followed with Kostas a close second. Andy managed to take third place on the podium, saving the professors from complete humiliation
