1st Microgrid Workshop 1st and

Introduction

The University of Amsterdam will host the first open workshop on Micro-grids on 1st and 2nd July at the Science Park in Amsterdam. The workshop theme is scalable on-chip parallelism. It brings together experts in micro-architecture, languages and compilers with the goal of disseminating longer-term research into the problems associated with scalable on-chip concurrency. It is a follow-up to prior closed meetings between some of the organisers. Attendance will be by invitation of the organising committee and a program will be selected based on the submission of short abstracts.

Announcements
What can we say? The workshop went beyond our expectations and we thank all of the delegates for their participation, the excellent presentations and the atmosphere. We will be following up this event with another workshop next year at the Compiler Technology and Computer Architecture group at
University of `Hertfordshire.

Proceedings
Selected papers from the workshop will be published in a special issue of International Journal of Parallel Programming. The papers will be selected on the basis of quality, originality and relevance to the conference focus. You are positively encouraged to augment your submissions with relevant material and results not presented at the workshop as long as it serves the purposes of your paper.

The general requirements of the Journal can be found here as can the latest IEEE style manual as it is referred to in the requirements.

Important dates:

  • Draft submission: 30 September 2005
  • Review deadline: 15 November
  • Final copy due: 20 December
  • Publication: 1st quarter 2006
