Ambient intelligence
|
Personal robot in an intelligent environment |
Objective
The European (ITEA) project "Ambience: Context Aware Environments for
Ambient Services" aims at the development of methods for intelligent
(home, office) environments. Within this context we contribute to the
development of 'intelligent interactive platform': a platform which
perceives and acts within an intelligent environment. The system can be
used as 'personal assistant', where the aspect of `natural' man-machine
interaction with speech and 'facial expressions' and 'body language' is very
important for awareness and 'telepresence' tasks.

Context Aware Environments for Ambient Services". In this project, a
consortium of European research partners works on intelligent (home,
office) environments. The University of Amsterdam contributes with
software methodologies for a personal robot, in particular for visual
navigation.
