Multimedia access

Access to multimedia archives is difficult due to the semantic gap between the data and the user interpretation of the data. Hence interaction is an essential component of any content based retrieval system. Our visual search systems are combining learned multimedia semantics with advanced visualization and interaction tools. They are optimized to maximally support users in their varying tasks.

High-performance multimedia computing

The multimedia research community does not yet benefit from high performance compute power on a daily basis. No programming tool is available that effectively supports the development of high performance applications for experts in multimedia computing. We research user-transparent and adaptive programming techniques for multimedia applications executing on computer clusters and the Grid.
