- Valeria Krzhizhanovskaya will defend her PhD thesis "A Virtual Reactor for Simulation of Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition" on June 20, 2008
- On June 20, Valeria Krzhizhanovskaya will defend her PhD thesis describing her research on novel computational methods to study very complex processes in detail. Owing to spectectular developments
in Grid Computing and in mathematical models, we can now for the first time gain insight in the interaction between plasma, chemical reactions and physical deposition processes. To this end Valeria Krzhizhanovskaya
has coupled a large number of computer systems in Russia and in the Netherlands and has found new ways to study these multiphysics processes. This research is of great importance to industry, for instance for the development of efficient solar cells. The research was performed under the guidance of Prof. P.M.A. Sloot at the University of Amsterdam and the St. Peterburg Politechnical State University in Russia
