Dr. Tsvi Vinig
Science Park Amsterdam Center for Entrepreneurship (SPACE), Amsterdam

Commercialization of science and technology innovations based on university reserarch is an important source for innovative new ventures and for economic development. Research suggests that university spin-offs have higher probability to survive the first three years (~75%) compared with non-university startups (~25%). Science Park Amsterdam Center for Entrepreneurship (SPACE) - a initiative of the Science Faculty, the University of Amsterdam Business School and Science Park Amsterdam, was established to stimulate and support science and technology entrepreneurship. Background, initial experience, programs at SPACE and possible WZI involvement will be discussed.
