Small Conference "Cohomology of Moduli Spaces"
Organized by
- Carel Faber
- Gerard van der Geer
The small-scale conference will be held at the Korteweg-de Vries Instituut
of the University of Amsterdam from Monday, December 16 until Friday,
December 20, 2002.
The room where the lectures are held is Room 227
(second floor)
in the Euclides building
Plantage Muidergracht 24, Amsterdam. You find help for finding your
way at
www.science.uva.nl/research/math/location.html
We are inviting a number of leading international
experts in this field, but we also hope that many young researchers
take part. As the title indicates the cohomology of moduli spaces,
esp.~of curves and abelian varieties, forms the central theme; both the
geometric and arithmetic aspects will play a prominent role. We are hoping
for interaction between representatives of the various aspects of the field.
Expected speakers include
B. Edixhoven, T. Ekedahl, E. Getzler, G. Harder, S. Keel, S. Kudla,
E. Looijenga, I. Madsen, B. Moonen, F.Oort, R. Pandharipande.
People who wish to participate in this conference should contact
one of the organizers, preferably before October 15, 2002. They
will then be provided with more detailed information. Unfortunately,
in general the organizers will not be able to provide financial
aid to participants. Participants should apply to their home institution
for financial support. If you want to have more information please do not
hesitate to contact one of the organizers (our e-mail addresses are
faber@math.kth.se and geer@science.uva.nl).
