The small-scale conference will be held at the Korteweg-de Vries Instituut of the University of Amsterdam from Monday, December 16 until Friday, December 20, 2002.

We are inviting a number of leading international experts in this field, but we also hope that many young researchers take part. As the title indicates the cohomology of moduli spaces, esp.~of curves and abelian varieties, forms the central theme; both the geometric and arithmetic aspects will play a prominent role. We are hoping for interaction between representatives of the various aspects of the field.

People who wish to participate in this conference should contact one of the organizers, preferably before October 15, 2002. They will then be provided with more detailed information. Unfortunately, in general the organizers will not be able to provide financial aid to participants. Participants should apply to their home institution for financial support.
