Symposium in honor of Tom Koornwinder


Date: December 11-12, 2008.
Location: Korteweg-de Vries Instituut voor Wiskunde, Universiteit van Amsterdam, Plantage Muidergracht 24, Amsterdam (route description).

The symposium is organized on the occasion of the retirement of Prof.dr. Tom Koornwinder. The lectures on thursday December 11 are by researchers who have recently been influenced by Tom's groundbreaking work on Special Functions and Quantum Groups. The lectures on friday morning December 12 highlight the research areas Tom has been working in and commemorate some of his research achievements.

Tom's farewell speech

Tom will give his farewell speech De speciale functie van de wiskunde (in dutch) on friday, December 12, 15.00 in the Aula of the UvA, Singel 411, Amsterdam, with reception afterwards.

Present

After Tom's farewell speech a joint present will be handed over to Tom. Everybody is cordially invited to contribute to the joint present.
