PECAN-PIE-1 - The traditional recipe for pecan pie
3 eggs, beaten
235 ml dark corn syrup
190 g sugar
30 g butter
5 ml vanilla extract
180 g pecans
1 unbaked pastry shell
(1) Preheat oven to 190 deg. C.
(2) Blend eggs, corn syrup, sugar, butter, and vanilla
together.
(3) Add pecans.
(4) Bake at 190 deg. C for 10 minutes, then lower the
temperature to 175 deg. C and bake for another 45
minutes or so (until a knife inserted halfway
between the edge and the center comes out clean.
(5) Remove and let cool.
If you use pecan halves it will look nicer than pecan
pieces, but be more difficult to cut.
Difficulty: easy. Time: 10 minutes preparation, 1 hour
cooking. Precision: measure the ingredients.
