This FAQ file will address commonly asked questions about the Tk Toolkit. As many of you are aware, the FAQ file posted by Larry Virden (lvirden@cas.org) monthly over the past few years has grown tremendously. The FAQ that you are reading now used to be sections VIII and X from part-02 of Larry's FAQ. Few changes have been made to that material to produce this file, other than renumbering the questions. Additions and modifications will begin in earnest over the next few months. Submissions, suggestions, and comments are welcomed.

For Tcl questions and answers, see "FAQ: comp.lang.tcl Tcl Language Usage Questions And Answers" by Joe Moss (joe@morton.rain.com). That FAQ covers what used to be sections VIII and IX from part-02 of Larry's FAQ. There is an obvious overlap of the former section VIII (Questions on building Tcl and friends on your system) in the FAQs of Joe and I. Over the next few months, that section in this FAQ will begin to concentrate more on specific questions about building Tk and friends, and only general information on building Tcl.

Larry still maintains and posts a comp.lang.tcl FAQ. The sections which formerly covered the material in this FAQ (and Joe's) have been replaced with new topics. See his recent posting for details.

One final note, this is my first attempt at posting this FAQ. A couple of issues are still being squared away with the *.answers moderators, so this FAQ will NOT appear in the usual FAQ newgroups and archives this month.
