MIDI Filename: UNCLMEAT.MID Composition name: "Uncle Meat" Composer: Frank Zappa Recordings: Uncle Meat (where better You Can't Do That on Stage Anymore, Vol. II versions of this The Yellow Shark piece can be found) Sequence created by: Stephen Q. Muth Praise / Poo-Poo: smuth@rmii.com Lawsuits: Yo Mama Track/channel Instrument (frills) 2 Rock Piano (high) 3 Fretless Bass 8 Marimba 10 General MIDI drums Notes: Play with the balance of the tracks until you get something that is musical. No attempt has been made to make this accessible to general MIDI inastruments. You must assign all your own voices and balance all your own tracks. There are no embedded patch-change commands to screw up your gear. Each track is on a separate MIDI channel for your editing convenience. I recommend playing this piece on a multi-timbral synth with at least 30 note polyphony, such as the Yamaha SY-85. This MIDI file will overload your typical Sound Blaster or Ad Lib cards. There is just too much stuff happening at the same time. The newer generation of cards out there (Turtle Beach Monterey, or the new digital Sound Blaster) might do the trick. If you get something musical out of this.... let me know. What did you play it on? How accessible was it? Thanks in advance. SQM P.S. I would like to add that... no matter how great you get this stuff to sound, better versions can be obtained at your local record store. Check out the Zappa section... usually under "Rock". Check the classical and electronic music sections, too.... you never know. I've even found Zappa's "Jazz From Hell" in a NEW AGE section... makes you wonder what this world is coming to....
